Top 10 Roulette Games to Play Online

You are mistaken if you think that all roulette games are the same.

The game of roulette has many variations. The rules of each variant vary as well as the odds of winning. The Viking slots games, for instance, can be categorized according to their themes, so they can be divided into different categories. We can categorize American and European variants into two general categories. The number of digits on the wheel is the most obvious difference between them. In American roulette, there are 38 numbers, whereas, in European roulette, there are 37. The traditional casino number is 0, and the 1-36 number ranges are 1 to 36. Consequently, the casino wins if the ball stays at 0. Due to the addition of the "00" section in the American version, the casino (house edge ratio) has slight advantages reason, As a result, European roulette has a house edge ratio of 2.70%, while American roulette has a house edge ratio of.

But that's not all: According to the rules, there are a few subcategories of European roulette. According to most experts, French Roulette offers the highest probability of winning. The house edge in this variant drops to 1.35%, and there are additional betting options. For the best roulette experience, select the French variant first, followed by the European variant.

Roulette is among the most well-known and recognizable casino games.

It is a very simple game to play. You have to bet on which number will land on a wheel with numbered pockets. As the wheel spins, the croupier drops a ball onto it from one direction to the other. Bets are paid out once the ball reaches one of the pockets, after which it goes around a circular track. Since everything is done by the computer in the online version, there is no croupier. There are roulette games available to play in pretty much every online casino, and many of them have dedicated sections to the game - EuroGrand Roulette is a classic example. Roulette rules

Roulette is a game of spinning disks with divisions around their edges that rotate around the bowl at the bottom. The bowl's outer edge is spun until the ball and wheel touch down with the ball resting in one of the divisions.

The divisions around the wheel alternate red and black and are numbered from 1 to 36 in what seems to be a random pattern. One division is green and numbered 0. The American version of Roulette has an additional green division marked 00, which is the main cause for its financial disadvantage compared to the European version.

On the mat, bets are placed before the ball is rolled by laying down chips on a specific location, which indicates which bet is being placed. French terms are still used on the betting area of a traditional roulette table in English-speaking areas, even though it is a game of French origin. Nevertheless, the majority of tables in the US use English terms and an entirely different style of mat.

Roulette Bets

Roulette's appeal is largely due to the number of possible bets and their odds. Every form of modern Roulette has the same basic bets. The following table lists all the available bets grouped by the odds associated with them (both French and English terms are given):

Evens

  • Rouge / Rouge: a red number
  • Black / Noir: a black number
  • Even / Pair: an even number
  • Odd / Impair: an odd number
  • Low bet or Manque: a wager on numbers 1 - 18 (Manque is French for "failed" and means the ball has not passed 18).
  • Bets / Passes: 19 - 36 (called passes because they have "passed" the center point)

2 to 1

  • The first dozen / first dozen: numbers 1 - 12 (On the French-style mat, the square marked 12P)
  • A middle dozen (the square marked 12M on the French-style mat) consists of the numbers 13 - 24.
  • (On the French-style mat, the 12D square marks the last dozen of numbers 25 - 36.)
  • In roulette, the term Colone refers to a column of twelve numbers (the special square at the end of one of three columns of twelve numbers).

Longer Odds

  • 5 to 1 - Line bet / Sixain: Bet on two rows of three numbers by placing your stake on the intersection between both rows.
  • 8 to 1 - Corner bet / Card: 4 numbers Stake your money on the intersection of a square of four numbers
  • 11 to 1 - Street bet / Card simple or Transversal: Three numbers on both sides of a line defining the end of the line of three numbers to bet upon
  • 17 to 1: Split bet / En Cheval: Bet on two numbers by placing your stake across the line that divides the two numbers
  • 35 to 1: Straight up / En plein: Choose a number and place your stake in the box. Zero can be bet on.

"Inside bets" are defined as bets on six numbers or less. Outside bets are bets with 12 numbers or more.

European Roulette Rules

The underlying principles of Roulette are trivially simple assuming that the various bets are understood. To distinguish between players, the croupier places all bets with colored chips and then spins the wheel and rolls the ball in the opposite direction. The croupier announces the result after the ball has come to rest in one of the slots, collects the losing bets, and pays the winners.

Some casinos and houses play additional optional rules. In both cases, the La Partage and En Prison roulette rules effectively cut the casino edge in half on even-money wagers. If you are playing at home, choose from the following rules which, if any, you will use.

'En Prison Rule

Only even-money bets are covered by this roulette rule. Players have two options when a zero appears:

  • You win half the bet and lose half.
  • The next time the wheel spins, leave your bet (en prison = in prison) for an all-or-nothing gamble. It is a loss if the next spin is zero, or if the imprisoned bet does not match. The player's money is returned if the next spin's outcome matches the bet.
'La Partage' Rule

In la partage roulette, the player loses half his bet when a zero appears, similar to the en prison rule.

Maximum and Minimum stakes

The maximum and minimum stakes are usually posted by casinos on roulette tables, and this is sometimes done for recreational play as well. Typically, it is required that the total amount of the player's inside bets exceeds the minimum stake for each spin of the wheel. There is usually only one "straight-up" maximum stake listed. For other bet types, the maximum stake increases proportionately.

e.g. You can wager twice as much on two numbers as on a straight-up bet, four times as much on a corner bet, and so on. The only limitation here is how much the casino can lose!

North American Roulette Rules

All bets (with the exception of one on the selected zero) lose when either zero appears on roulette wheels in North America and the Caribbean. There is a consequent reduction in the odds for the punter, as well as an increase in the casino's cut. There is probably a reason why Roulette is less popular in this region than in other places.

The Double Zero also works in the same way as a single zero result, just like the rules for European Roulette above.

The "basket bet" is also allowed in some American casinos. This bet is staked by placing chips on the border between the zero row and the 1, 2 and 3 row outside of the dividing line. In normal circumstances, this type of bet pays 6 to 1, which makes it the worst bet in roulette.

The old original Roulette Game

There was a "double zero" and a zero in classic French roulette. As well as counting as "Pair" and "Manque", the zero was red; as well as counting as "Impair" and "Passe".

The bank takes all lost stakes if the ball falls into either of the zero divisions, but if the bet is matched because it is Pair, Impair, Rouge, Noir, Passe or Manque, instead of winning, the stake is imprisoned until the next spinning of the wheel. As a result, the gambler either lost his stake or was merely refunded his stake without profit if the ball matched the bet again.

In light of these explanations, the following are our top 10 roulette games:

10 – American Roulette

American and European versions of this game are the most common. They do have one significant difference, however. There are 37 numbers in the European variation: 1 to 36, plus 0. All of these are present in American type, plus a 38th pocket, 00. There are no differences in betting options or payouts between the two versions. Due to the extra pocket on the American wheel, you are less likely to win. In most cases, people will play this type of roulette online.

 9 – French Roulette

There are two additional rules in this version compared to the European one. Using the 'la partage rule, if even money bet lands in the 0 pocket, the stake is refunded at half the amount. You can hold your stake over for the next spin using the 'en prison rule. In the event that you win, you will get your stake back in full; if you lose, you will forfeit it.

8 – Mini Roulette

This version provides a great option for beginners with a smaller wheel with far fewer betting options and numbered pockets than the American or European standard wheel. If you're just learning how the game works, this is the perfect game for you.

7 – Multi-Wheel Roulette

There is more than one wheel in this game, as its name suggests. This works like this: you select the number of wheels to bet on, then decide what bet to make, and the same wager is placed on each wheel. Then you cannot bet on different wheels at the same time. Any payouts are made after all the wheels you bet on have been spun simultaneously. You can bet on up to eight wheels simultaneously in these games.

6 – Progressive Roulette

Progressive roulette is one of the best ways to play for a much larger cash prize at an online casino. The progressive jackpot is funded by a portion of your bet. Jackpot winning strategies vary according to the game. A jackpot could be won if you land the same number on several consecutive spins or if you win a mini-game or bonus round that gives you a chance to hit the jackpot. You can even find progressive jackpots with more than one starting amount, with the highest one being the most difficult to win.

5 – Double Ball Roulette

This game uses two balls instead of one, as you might have guessed from its name. Therefore, you have a higher chance of winning. The only requirement for inside bets is that one ball lands in the corresponding pocket, whereas the only requirement for outside bets is that both balls land in the corresponding pockets. With a great new twist on a classic game, this one isn't too common just yet, but it is sure to catch on over the coming years.

4 – Pinball Roulette

The combination of pinball and roulette makes this innovative game so appealing. You play pinball instead of a wheel in this game. In the bottom moving pocket, the ball eventually lands after passing through bumpers and pins. Similar to European-type moving pockets.

3 – 3D Roulette

The game's name comes from the 3D graphics it has (usually found in the European version). In great detail, it brings the wheel to life. It's a fantastic game for those who enjoy immersive online gaming experiences and appreciate high-quality graphics.

 2 – European Roulette

Compared to the American version, the European version has one fewer pocket. There are therefore more chances of winning. Due to this, European roulette is the one you'll most often encounter at online casinos out of the two main versions of the game. The American version is also offered by most casinos, but many players prefer the European one due to its better chances of winning.

1 – Live Roulette

With live dealer games, you get all the conveniences of online gambling while also getting the gaming experience of a land-based casino on the go. Unlike animated online roulette games, these live games are broadcast in real-time. Most of the games mentioned in this list, such as the European, French, and American ones, can be played in a real-money casino.

Real Money Roulette Mobile Apps

Despite the fact that all of the Casinos on this list offer a top-quality experience on desktop, they don't always do the same on mobile.

In this last part of my guide to the best Roulette sites, you can play Roulette games on your mobile device or tablet.
